Domestic Violence

On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. Annually, this is more than 10 million women and men. Domestic violence is not gender specific, nor do race, age or financial status shield people from its devastation. Statistics reveal that 1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year, and 90% of these youths are eyewitnesses to domestic violence, leaving a huge mental and physical impact on their lives. CUI offers health fairs and workshops to help people to recognize the signs and provides useful information about resources. Take 5 minutes to donate on paypal, located on our website to help us bring health awareness to the community. Domestic violence and breast cancer awareness are not just to be recognized during October-let's work daily to be supportive and proactive.

Domestic violence is rising due to COVID-19. Homeless population, job loss and depression are fuels for domestic violence. The unrest due to Black lives being lost to police brutality requires action on all of our part to help! C.U.I. is helping to intervene with ongoing education and collaboration with our Consortium partners which are a branch of C.U.I.
