HIV / AIDS Education

AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, is a disease that breaks down the immune system. HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, is the virus that causes AIDS. The virus lives primarily in white blood cells, where it damages and kills these and other cells. AIDS has killed more than 25 million people worldwide, including more than 580,000 Americans. C.U.I. brings together the community to identify ways to both stop the virus, and to help people living with HIV/AIDS. Particular attention is focused on getting the faith community involved.

HIV/AIDS walks, education, collaboration with AIDS service organizations continue, and outreach to make it clear that the disease is still very rampant, especially amongst our youths, and in all populations in Georgia, a national hotspot,.
